Timeline of Milestones
1929

Kristian Jebsens Rederi was established as a family-owned shipping company headquartered in Bergen, Norway.
1966

KJR partnered with Bothelo Bulk Transport Company of the Philippines to allow them to charter vessels with Filipino crew.
1979

Philippine Transmarine Carriers, Inc. Is founded by Ambassador Carlos C. for Filipinos aspiring for a future in the merchant maritime field.
1982

Upon retirement of the Bothelo owners, Jebsens began scouting for a reliable local partner. Citibank N.A.recommended two companies, leading to the Aboitiz group sealing the partnership.
1983

The company formally changed its name to Aboitiz Jebsen Bulk Transport Corporation.
1984

Jebsen PTC, Inc. established its headquarters in Kings Court Makati.
Several subsidiaries were established to expand Jebsen PTC, Inc.’s business.

1985 – General Charterer, Inc. 1985 – Filscan Shipping, Inc. 1986 – Nor-Phil Ocean Shipping, Inc. 1986 – Viking International Carriers, Inc. 1987 – Overseas Bulk Transport, Inc.
1988
MegaCarriers was established when the Aboitiz group launched the country’s biggest domestic container ship.
Jebsen PTC, Inc. provided crew for the trademark self-unloading vessels of the Jebsens called “Beltships”.

1989

Jebsens Orient Shipping Service started trading dry commodities in the Australasian region, the Bay of Bengal, the Far East, and across the Pacific Ocean.
1990

Jebsen PTC, Inc.’s crew deployment passed the 1000 mark.
1991

The company received its first Top Performer Award from the Philippine Overseas Employment Agency (POEA).
1992
Jebsen PTC, Inc. was awarded its second Top Performer Award by the POEA.
1993

SuperFerry 1 was launched by the Aboitiz Group, managed by Jebsen PTC, Inc. Ship Management. It will become the largest ferry line in the Philippines.
1994

Jebsen PTC, Inc. Manpower Solutions was established to send Filipino professions for Wartsila in Kenya.
1995

William Gothong & Aboitiz Jebsens Ship Management, Inc. was established and becomes the first Filipino shipping company to be awarded the ISM Code Certification for providing safe travel, cargo transport efficiency, and environmental protection.
1996

Hapag-Lloyd of Hamburg, Germany, a global leader in container shipping, sealed a crewing partnership with Jebsen PTC, Inc. and remains strong up to the present.
1997

Jebsen PTC, Inc. holds its first ever Principals’ Conference.
1998

The company received its third POEA Award of Excellence.
1999

Myrna Daite became the first Filipina to become a ship´s officer: third mate on the Ramon Aboitiz. She was a product of the country’s first female cadetship program instituted by Jebsen PTC, Inc..
2000

Malampaya Project, the largest domestic natural gas extraction endeavor in Philippine history, begun. Jebsen PTC, Inc. supplied crew for the pipe laying vessels that connects the platform into the power generation system.
2001

Jebsen PTC, Inc. signed a crewing partnership with The World Residences at Sea, the largest private residential ship which travels around the globe.
2002

Jebsen PTC, Inc. was recognized by POEA for promoting Human Resources Development and received its fifth Award of Excellence.
2003

Jebsen PTC, Inc.’s annual deployment reached the 5,000 mark.
2004

SuperFerry 1 became the first RO/RO Passenger vessel in the Philippines to be issued the ISPS certificate.
2005

In addition to its 6th Award of Excellence from POEA, Jebsen PTC, Inc. was given the Special Commendation for Exemplary Welfare and Allied Services. The same year, Hapag-Lloyd was conferred with the Outstanding Employer Award by the Philippine Government.
2006

TESMA Crew Management, an Jebsen PTC, Inc. joint venture, was renamed EMS Crew Management, now part of the Selandia Group.
2006

PTC CEO Gerardo Borromeo represented the Filipino Shipowners Association (FSA) at the International Shipping Federation (US) which was later amalgamated with the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS). He was then elected as Vice-Chairman serving until 2017.
2007

Jebsen PTC, Inc. started its third-party ship management services in with Oriental Bright of Soki Kisen as the initial vessel.
2008

Jebsen PTC, Inc. boasts a crew retention rate of 92%. One of the industry’s highest.
2009

Jebsen PTC, Inc. was conferred with the Award of Excellence by the President of the Philippines for its consistent excellent performance in the recruitment, placement and deployment of Filipino seafarers.
2010

Jebsen PTC, Inc. seafarers, Electrician Demosthenes Quinones and Chief Cook Reggie Oandasan, were recognized as outstanding and model seafarers by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration.
2010

PTC Holdings Corporation, the holdings entity for the entire PTC Group, was established.
2011

Aboitiz Jebsen Bulk Transport Corporation changed its name to Aboitiz Jebsen Company, Inc
2012

Jebsen PTC, Inc. signed a joint venture agreement with Nasdaq-listed Star Bulk of Greece.
2012

PTC CEO Gerardo Borromeo was elected as the first Filipino president of InterManager.
2013

Jebsen PTC, Inc. started its crewing partnership with Reederei Hamburger Lloyd.

Jebsen PTC, Inc. has been handed the prestigious Polaris Star Maritime Award by the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy Alumni Association.
2014

Philippine Transmarine Carriers invests in Jebsen PTC, Inc. as a shareholder with strong experience from the manpower business.
Olympic Jebsen Offshore was established.

2015

MV Sharpnes of Jebsens was delivered.
2016

Bjorn Jebsen, Jebsen PTC, Inc. Chairman, was elected as President of InterManager, the only organization exclusively dedicated to representing the Ship Management Industry.
2017

Jebsen PTC, Inc. teamed with Aboitiz Foundation for technical services to MV Amazing Grace of the Philippine Red Cross, the Philippines’ first humanitarian vessel.
2018

PTC Founder Carlos C. Salinas was appointed as an International Maritime Organization (IMO) Maritime Ambassador.
2019

PTC CEO Gerardo Borromeo was appointed as Chairman of the Executive Board of the World Maritime University (WMU).
2020

PTC CEO Gerardo Borromeo was again elected as Vice-Chairman of the ICS.
2020

The company was named Jebsen PTC to reflect its expanding partnership with the PTC Group.
