Jebsen PTC takes pride in recognizing and celebrating the invaluable contributions of our Global Maritime Professionals (GMPs). From September 25 to 29, a week-long celebration took place filled with special treats and engaging activities. Our offices in Makati, Cebu, and Iloilo were adorned to set the tone for the festivities. Throughout the week, our reception area offered a warm welcome with free-flowing coffee and biscuits while our dedicated crew awaited their transactions.
On the first day of the Maritime Week, a brief opening program was held. Hosted by Ms. Normie Hernandez, our Family and Crew Relations Manager, the program provided an exciting preview of the week’s activities. C/E Joey Abengona, Fleet Head, delivered the opening remarks, underscoring the significance of Maritime Week and the pivotal role our GMPs play in driving the global maritime industry forward.
During the week, Sunlife GREPA, in collaboration with PTC Insures, extended their support by assisting GMPs with financial needs analysis. They not only organized engaging games but also generously distributed freebies.
On September 26, a complimentary health check-up was conducted, courtesy of Sunlife GREPA, benefiting our dedicated crew. Their team, alongside the medical director, provided this essential service to our GMPs.
Day 3 saw Unilab, through Health Metrics, offering free bone screening and anemia tests to the first 100 GMPs. In addition to these vital tests, Unilab generously distributed free medicines and vitamins to our GMPs. Later in the afternoon, our GMPs had the opportunity to unwind with complimentary massages. Skilled masseurs were present from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at our Makati office, providing relaxation and rejuvenation.
The grand finale of the week is the Culminating Program featuring talks by our esteemed partners, First Maritime Credit Corporation (FMCC) and Unilab, along with entertaining games. Nicca Tirones from the Processing Department served as the program host.
Mr. Jinggoy Lhotto, Financial Director at FMCC, delivered an insightful financial wellness presentation. This not only introduced FMCC to GMPs but also covered essential topics like responsible budgeting and effective savings strategies. Active GMP participants were rewarded with gift certificates, and FMCC’s generosity extended to all attendees with complimentary giveaways.
In between speakers, GMPs enjoyed a song performance by one of Jebsen PTC crewing’s talented singers, Kisheann Camille Dejucos. This set the stage for the succeeding “Guess the Song” game, where GMPs not only had to identify song titles but also showcase their singing talents by singing a portion of the song. The winners got exciting prizes from our program sponsors—Sunlife GREPA, Eastwest Healthcare, Unilab, and PTC Talent Acquisition.
The program concluded with a health and wellness presentation by Dr. Aleta Corrales, an Internal Medicine specialist. Dr. Corrales conducted an in-depth talk on the importance of both physical and mental well-being, with a particular focus on the challenges faced by seafarers. Additionally, she addressed prevalent health conditions among GMPs, such as hypertension, diabetes, and depression, providing valuable insights on managing and coping with these conditions.
Throughout the morning, Healthmetrics and Unilab generously offered complimentary uric acid and blood sugar testing to all interested GMPs.
